Ray Marshall Motorsports, established in 2006, is owned and operated by Ray Marshall. While the team is young, the history and culture of Ray Marshall Motorsports began in 1960, when Ray began his love of racing. While his career as a driver ended in 1973, the passion for the sport still thrived.
His passion for racing and ownership of Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc. allowed him to pursue further avenues of racing through equipment built for the Indianapolis 500, Indy Racing League, Formula One (F1A) and Champion Auto Racing Team (CART) with the design and build of “The QualifierTM”, technical inspection equipment known as the “official supplier of measuring equipment”. Ray was awarded, in 1990, the prestigious Chief Stewards Award for most innovative achievement at the Indianapolis 500. During this time, Ray also became a primary sponsor in midget racing for David and Mark Bridges for many years. He also sponsored engine builder and driver, Gaylon Fox, of Foxco Inc. who ran in the Nascar Michigan 500.
Returning to his grassroots of racing, Ray began his racing team with his grandson, Ethan Hoy, as his first driver. Since then, he has had other drivers; such as: Jeff Williams, Matt Westfall, Luke Hall, Dallas Hewitt, Derek Hastings, Tom Rhoades, Mike Dunlap, Sheldon Haudenschild, and Bryan Sebetto. All of whom have helped build the team to success.
Today, Ray Marshall Motorsports has become an elite racing team in Northwest Ohio that has established a respected name on and off the dirt track circuit. This is a team that is built on a solid foundation of racing knowledge, competitive edge and a desire to always win. This team lives and breaths DIRT! Ray Marshall Motorsports continues to grow in experience and achievement.
