On September 23rd, the Ray Marshall Motorsports team rolled into Eldora Speedway for the Four Crown Nationals. Matt Westfall was again behind the wheel of the non wing car, and Max Stambaugh made his 410 debut in the winged 33M car.
The USAC Sprints rolled out first and Westfall powered around the track to come up with the 9th quickest qualifying time out of the (40) cars. Matt finished the feature in 8th spot with many of the USAC regulars in tow.
When the All-Stars rolled out onto the track, Stambaugh struggled a bit with qualifying and started deep in his heat; missing the transfer by just 1 spot. The team regrouped and Max came from 3rd to win the B-Main by more than 4 seconds. Starting the feature in 21st spot, Max stormed up through the pack passing some of the toughest drivers sprint car racing has to offer and finished in 9th place. In doing so, Max and the MMS team picked up the Hard Charger Award!
MMS next race is at Fremont on October 1st and then back to Eldora on October 8th. If you would like to join us in the suites at the Eldora Speedway for The Sprintacular, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details. See you at the races!
